Tim Vos

My name is Tim Vos and I'm a Music and Psychology student in University College Cork. I got involved with Youth Work Ireland Tipperary in 2015 where I was nominated by my peers to sit on Tipperary Comhairle na nÓg. After sitting my term on the council I became a leader for Tipperary Comhairle na nÓg and with other projects run by Youth Work Ireland Tipperary. In this time I worked very closely with the National Youth Council of Ireland and was chosen to represent Irish young people at the European Youth Conference in both Malta and Estonia in 2017, but also got to work very closely with the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, as well as Minister Zappone and her officials. In 2017 I was co-opted to the Youth Work Ireland Tipperary Board of Directors as a representative for young people. Since joining I've had many great experiences working with young people, both in the organisation and with partners of the organisation, and was allowed to represent the organisation and EuroDesk at the European Youth Event 2018 in the European Parliment in Strasbourg.

Thanks for welcoming me onto the board of Youth Work Ireland Tipperary. Having joined in April 2018, I was immediately impressed with the scale and quality of services provided, and honoured to now be a part of such an organisation. My background is in working with people across a number of industries, and currently I am HR Manager of Amneal Ireland Ltd, a pharmaceutical company based in Cashel. I studied Business with HR in UL, and later completed my MSc in Organisational Behaviour there too. My experience in youth work started as a child – I am the oldest of 7 children! I also volunteered for a year in Haiti where I worked in an orphanage, school and paediatric hospital. I am looking forward to utilising some of my experience in coaching, people development and organisation structure wherever it can be of use to YWIT over the coming years.
