Our Youth Centres
We have five welcoming, supportive youth centres based in Thurles, Templemore, Tipperary Town and Cashel. Each youth centre houses a range of projects and services, and has a welcoming staff who work with young people to meet their interests and requirements. Our integrated youth service approach means that young people can access shared services and programmes through these centres. All young people are welcome and encouraged to come in and meet us.
We have a range of projects which work to provide both universal and specific services to our young people, each located in one of our four youth centres. These projects are mainly funded by a range of government, community and local agencies, through fundraising and local support and sponsorship.
Local communities in Tipperary and East Limerick are working on a weekly basis to provide youth clubs in their local centres and halls. These clubs are run by local volunteers with support from our Rural Outreach Team.
Youth Work Ireland Tipperary hosts a community employment scheme with 16 staff who work with the youth projects as part and youth information centres to provide a supportive and safe environment for young people. We place a high emphasis on training, career development and progression opportunities for participants on the CE scheme, and have a high progression rate on completion of the scheme.
