Youth Work Ireland Tipperary’s new Rural Team: (L-R) William Dunne, Paula Cleary and Cate O’Connor

We are delighted to let you know we now have three team members in place to support the YWIT Rural Clubs throughout the county, who are:

  • Paula Cleary – Part Time Rural Outreach Worker (South Tipp)

Paula has been part of Youth Work Ireland Tipperary since 1997 when she started as a member in her local youth club. She then went on to complete her Future Leader Induction Programme (FLIP) training and a short while after that completed her volunteer induction training with YWIT. In 2015 she started in the Rural outreach project as a support worker. Since 2017 she has been the face of all your club visits and training and events.

Paula’s main focus will be support clubs in South Tipperary especially in relation to recruitment of volunteers and club visits in South Tipperary.

  • ·William Dunne – New Part Time Rural Outreach Worker (North Tipp)

William has been part of Youth Work Ireland Tipperary since November 2013. It all began as a student in Cashel and Templemore youth project on placement which fostered in to volunteering and seasonal hours in Rural FLIP training and Templemore youth project. It all became official in December 2016 where he took up his current post as a part time community youth worker in Fethard and Killenaule youth project. William is looking forward to supporting clubs, linking clubs and projects and planning programmes and events for volunteers and young people.

William’s main focus will be support clubs in North Tipperary especially in relation to recruitment of volunteers and club visits in North Tipperary.

  •  Cate O’Connor  – New Full Time Rural Outreach Worker

Cate also has years of experience of working with and supporting Volunteers and young people, running training and events for volunteers and young people, creating easy to run programmes to support volunteer leaders and has years of experience being a volunteer Leader herself with a different youth organisation.

Cate’s main focus will be in supporting existing Volunteer leaders, running training as needed or requested throughout the whole county, delivering new programmes and running events for the youth clubs along with administrative and finance tasks, including NQSF.

Our top priority for this new team is to get out to each club by the end of March, so we can get to meet you all, check in with you around any support needed and hear all the great things you have been doing and also hear your club’s ideas for 2019, so we can best support you.  So we will be in touch with the each of the club secretaries to schedule a visit to your club.
