YWIT: 6th Class Transition Programme (online)

Description:

We here in Youth Work Ireland Tipperary would like to acknowledge the importance now more than ever of preparing for the transition from Primary to secondary school. We are now running 6th class transition programmes across all our projects. This will provide you with the opportunity to engage with your friends in a safe/fun way while discussing and addressing any hopes and fears you might have in relation to the transition to secondary school. We will have group activities, challenges, discussions and lots more. We will be using digital spaces such as zoom so we can talk to you and your friends as a group in a virtual world. The programme is based on the Next Step Programme and adapted to work in a virtual environment. It is divided up into three stages:

Stage 1: Online group 6th Class Transition programme, focused on Team building, Character development and building resilience. Stage 2: Summer Programme. Stage 3: First year Group.

This is a 6 week online programme that will cover:

  • Learning about each other, Group contract, Hope and Fears and Personal timeline
  • Facing Change and Challenges
  • Who’s in my network
  • Building Relationships/Friendships
  • Building resilience ( YWIT’s Snow White and the 7 Mental Health Helpers Programme)

This is an exciting new opportunity, we are looking forward to seeing you there and supporting you through this transition.
